Join us for a delightful two-day Coiling Pottery Workshop where you'll create your very own handmade coil vase. This beginner-friendly experience is perfect for anyone wanting to explore the meditative art of hand-building pottery—no prior experience required! Each 2.5-hour session our friendly, experienced instructor will guide you step by step through the coiling process: Day 1 — Start by preparing your clay and rolling out smooth, even coils. Build a sturdy base, then carefully stack and join the coils, shaping your vase as you go. You'll learn essential techniques like scoring, slipping, pinching, and smoothing to create strong walls and a beautiful form. By the end of the session, your vase will take shape and be left to dry slowly. Day 2 — Return the very next day to refine your vase—smoothing the surface, adding any decorative touches if desired, and making final adjustments before it heads off for kiln firing. Once your vase is fired and ready (allow 2 weeks for firing), the experience continues with a special collaboration across the road at &flowers! Day 3 — Flower Arranging with &Flowers Using your beautiful hand-built vase. Learn how to thoughtfully place each stem, exploring balance, movement, and natural form. You have the freedom to choose whichever flowers speak to you, with a $40 flower credit to select your own stems, you will be given little tips and tricks along the way to help guide your arrangement. Set in a relaxed, welcoming space, the workshop invites you to slow down, connect with the flowers, and create something uniquely your own, a piece to take home that will allow you to stay in the present.
